Nigeria continues to face significant economic challenges. Inflation remains high, currency volatility persists, and the cost of living weighs heavily on households and businesses. Yet, in boardroom conversations, we noticed a subtle but important shift in tone.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe situation has dramatically improved over the last 12\u201318 months.\u201d
\u201cThe country is sorting out their economy, to the point where they can even repay debts.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\nThese are not declarations of victory. But they are signals of movement.<\/p>\n
Business leaders point to improvements in fiscal management, greater coherence in monetary policy, and a willingness \u2014 however gradual \u2014 to address structural issues. International capital remains cautious, but there is a sense that macro discipline is returning.<\/p>\n
It is not about things being fixed. It is about things starting to move in the right direction.<\/p>\n
Founders on the Frontlines: Pragmatism Over Hype<\/h2>\n
For Nigeria\u2019s tech founders, the realities remain gritty. Fundraising is challenging, especially for earlier-stage ventures. Costs are high, FX is volatile, and consumer wallets are tight.<\/p>\n

Pidgin has a way of compressing economic realities into a few words. These phrases capture not just purchasing power but also emotion, fatigue, and adaptation. What we encountered was not celebration, but endurance.<\/p>\n
Between Optimism and Survival<\/h2>\n
Nigeria today sits on a threshold. There is a push to believe \u2014 to trust that reforms will hold, stability will return, and growth will follow. But there is also the fatigue of having believed before.<\/p>\n
What defines this moment is the coexistence of both optimism and survival. For investors and business leaders, that means listening carefully, assuming less, and supporting ventures that are not only chasing growth but embedding resilience and sustainability into their models.<\/p>\n

Nigeria is recalibrating. Progress is slow, uneven, and fragile \u2014 but it is real. For those with the patience to navigate uncertainty and the insight to partner with resilient founders, this may be a pivotal moment.<\/p>\n
